Gabriel Dawe-some

This is a gift from me to all the designers, color enthusiasts (I'm referring to you, Jillian Bagan!), colorists, marketers, musicians, and photographers who need a burst of inspiration (visually and mentally).

Gabriel Dawe's work is amazing. He is of Mexican descent, moving to Montreal after he worked as a graphic designer for a number of years. Wanting to explore a foreign land (I guess we count as "foreign") to gain creative freedom, he started to create and experiment which lead him to embroidery and textiles. Since the work of embroidery and textiles is so closely associated with women in his culture, his work is described to be  "subversive of notions of masculinity and machismo."

His work with textiles has evolved in creating large scale installations that are beyond compare. Check these babies out to get inspiration and hopefully motivate you to do something creative today!

You can find more of his work here.

We do not any of these images!
