Lovely-dovey moment! When it gets cold outside it’s nice to get all cosy n' shit with the person to your left or right. Enjoy! >>

I’ve been wanting to do a post on coats for the longest time, but it was just a little too summer-like for most people to start thinking about them. Well guess what folks – six days ago it was the first day of Fall in the Northern Hemisphere, which means I’m allowed to talk about coats now. Choice!
Below are eight coat styles I’m looking forward to for this Winter >
1> Full-length
2> Plaid
Toulouse Lautrec
3> Shawl Collar
Via. Miss Moss
4> Pea Coat
5> Bright-Coloured
6> Cropped-Sleeve
Max Mara Winter 2009 via Style.com
7> Classic Tailored
8> Hoods!

There’s a lot of things going on at POMP at the moment! The most recent being that the first instalment of the Fall/Winter 2011 line is now available to purchase at Dream Apparel in Gastown and Granville Island (who, by the way, was just voted #1 Best Local Designer Clothing Store by the Vancouver Straight). Get on it! More will be available and you’ll see it all in an upcoming project that I am very excited to show you…but for now check out the above ‘sneak peek’ on what’s to come – shot by Marlon Vizcayno the Great and modelled by the insanely talented Adrianna Riemersma (buy her band’s album on itunes here).

Hugo Boss Trousers, Shoes from The Bay
Last night I went to Oakridge Centre to take a look at what the trends for this Fall are according to Flare Magazine Editor in Chief Lisa Tant.
Lisa M.C’d an hour long presentation of current Fall fashion, starting from what she saw on the runways at fashion weeks six months ago, to clothing that can be purchased now from various stores at Oakridge. Trends in the spotlight last night ranged from colour, menswear, prints, coats, python, embellishment, and naughty vs. nice. Following the fashion show Lisa took a few questions from the trend-conscious crowd, including ‘what’s the one item she would splurge on for Fall’ (printed dress), ‘will over the knee boots carry over to next winter’ (probably not), and ‘where did she get her shoes’ (Prada).
All proceeds from the ticket sales from last night went to Dress for Success Vancouver, a non-profit organization aimed towards promoting the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life. Nice one!
